EMPLOYMENT

Mentorship Programme 2024

Experienced OTs or New Grads are welcome to apply.

Why work at Making Sense OT?

Our dedicated team of OTs provides personalised care and support for children of all ages.

The goal of the successful applicant will be to help each child reach their full potential and lead a happy, fulfilling life. You will also continue to develop your clinical skills and be an exceptional OT.

We understand that every child is unique. You will conduct comprehensive assessments using the latest standardised tools. You will be able to establish a baseline of how the child functions across all areas of daily occupation so that you can track the outcomes of your input.

We make therapy fun! You will use play to help children develop essential motor skills, sensory awareness and, processing skills and cognitive abilities.

You will work in childcare centres, preschools, and schools to ensure the child’s success in the classroom and playground, helping them to overcome challenges and build confidence in their abilities. You will become part of the child’s support team at school, working with teachers and support staff to assist them in carrying on the therapy in between sessions.

You will support children to learn emotional regulation, fostering emotional well-being, resilience, and self-esteem.

At MSOT, we believe that family involvement is crucial. You will educate and empower parents to support their child’s progress at home.

Why choose our mentorship programme?

Our experienced OTs have years of experience and will provide valuable insights, knowledge, and practical skills to help you become the best OT you can be. We understand that, just like every child is unique, every therapist is, too, and we will customise your learning journey to match your goals and interests.

  • You will have access to a wealth of resources, materials, and the latest evidence-based practices to stay at the forefront of OT.

  • You will have weekly supervision sessions with Anne Basedow to continue to improve your clinical reasoning and skills. You will attend weekly meetings to learn and collaborate with other OTs continually.

  • You will have access to a library of books, journals, assessment tools and therapeutic interventions. You will continue to develop your problem-solving skills and learn to adapt to various clinical situations.

The professional development sessions that we run will work towards meeting your AHPRA CPD portfolio goals, and you will easily achieve the PD requirements for ongoing registration. This will include participation in workshops, seminars and training sessions and keeping up to date with the latest trends and advancements in OT.

Join us, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of the children and families that we work with. We would love to welcome you to our team and work with you to continue your development to become an exceptional OT.
