Occupational Therapist

Crystal worked as a Dentist in China for 6 years before she moved to Australia.   In 2010, she moved to Adelaide to pursue her study of Occupational Therapy. Crystal graduated from Master of Occupational Therapy program in University of South Australia in 2014 and became a Registered Occupational Therapist. Since then she has been working in both community and residential aged care facilities mostly and working in the Inclusion Support Program for a year.
 
Working as an OT for many years now, Crystal has developed skills in conducting OT home visits & functional assessments, tailoring care plans, care plan evaluations, equipment prescription, home modifications, task analysis and energy conservation techniques, fall prevention, client education, basic rehabilitation/reablement, group and 1:1 class etc. She also has experience in conducting manual handling training for carers and families and experience in OT student supervision.
 
Crystal has continued her professional development by attending home modification for OT workshop, Tai Chi for health, falls prevention programs and pressure care symposium to further develop her occupational therapy skills to provide evidence-based occupational therapy to her clients.
 
Crystal has great passion in providing client-centred occupational therapy service to assist clients to maintain/improve their independence in daily living activities and to facilitate their physical, social and psychological wellbeing. She works with clients and their carers/families closely to assist them achieve their goals.
 
Crystal’s background affords her the cultural competence to work with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. She also has flexibility to fluently speak in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
